Congregational Care Ministry
The Congregational Care Ministry oversees the shepherd groups and nursery, organizes the Lenten lunches and gathers the contents and puts together care packages for college students and military personnel. We provide support to individuals and families in times of life's challenges and changes. We are looking forward to introducting the congregation to a new Lay ministry progam in the near future.
Deacons responsible for this ministry are Deb Comer, Patricia Ours and Linda Myers. Please feel free to contact them with questions and ideas or if you are interested in participating in these programs.
Mission and Outreach Ministry
The Mission and Outreach Ministry supports the congregation's outreach beyond the doors of the church both through financial contribution and also through hands-on involvement. Some of the organizations and projects of this ministry include: The Massanutten Food Pantry, Blood Drives, People Helping People and the Christmas Angel Tree. This year we introduced a new 'all hands on deck' service opportunity called: Massanutten Cares, which provided the congregation a venue to reach out to our neighbors and provide care to our church family in a day of joyful service to God.
Through the years the congregation has also reached out to people and places in need through mission trips and support. Some of these efforts include several trips to the Gulf Coast following Huricane Katrina; support of mission personnel serving the larger church; mission trips participating in ongoing denominational outreach to Haiti.
This ministry is also responsible for educating the congregation about upcoming and special offerings such as Four-Cents-A-Meal, Christmas Joy and Disaster Relief.
Deacons responsible for this ministry are Jeff Lees, Tim Long, Doug Sensabaugh, Patti Hobbie and Gina Phelps. We welcome anyone who would be interested in joining the Mission and Outreach Ministry of Massanutten.
