Board of Deacons
The Board of Deacons is composed of 12 ordained deacons who have been elected by the congregation. They meet monthly on the 2nd Monday at 7 p.m.
They are responsible for these ministries: Benevolence Ministry, Community Outreach Ministry, Congregational Care Ministry and Mission Ministry... MORE

Blood Drives: April 3, August 5, December 16
Service to Our Congregation
Deacons are available before and after each Sunday worship service to greet people and receive prayer requests.
Sunnyside Bus transportation coordinated for Sunnyside residents for Sunday services.
Church Nursery: support Nursery Committee to provide a safe and caring environment for our children during Sunday services and special occasions.
Blood Drives occur three times a year.
Host two Lenten Lunches each year.
Care Packages sent to College and Military Personnel each year.
Service to the Community at Large
Food Pantry supports families in need twice a month (2nd Monday and 4th Thursday).
4 Cents a Meal on the 1st Sunday of each month to support the Food Pantry and local families in need.
Support Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
MPC is a sponsoring church for Mercy House providing financial support and group meals on a quarterly basis. You can support Mercy House by donating items to their Thrift Store at 1005 High Street.
Turkey Feathers provide a gift, clothing and a toy for the children of our Food Pantry clients. Gifts provided annually for 60 children.
Angel Tree provides gifts for disabled adults and for children given to us by social services and prison ministries.
Participate in and support Habitat for Humanity projects.
Support Lutheran Presbyterian Campus Ministries at JMU.
Sponsoring church for Eastern Mennonite High School.
Support People Helping People.
Annually support several Mission Trips ministering to local, national and international needs.
Support Disaster Response coordinated through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.
Support Preschool Scholarships.
