Planned Giving

The Planned Giving Ministry of Massanutten Presbyterian Church is one of the resources which God has provided this congregation to be used on God's behalf. Our Planed Giving Ministry is built up by the gifts and bequests of faithful members and friends to strengthen the ongoing work of the church. The funds of the Planned Giving Ministry are called the Crossroads Society Funds. Donors to the Crossroads Society Funds have the opportunity to give a gift that keeps on giving through sound investments. Just as annual stewardship giving is a chance to return to God a portion of annual income, contributions to the Crossroads Society Funds provides a way to share the accumulated gifts which God provides as a long-lasting support for Massanutten's ministry.

 Permanent Funds

The Crossroads Society has four permanent funds; Building and Facilities, Staffing, Missions, and Unrestricted.

Building and Facilities:  To provide funds for reducing mortgage debt, new construction, and maintenance needs. Maintenance needs include but are not limited to the repair or replacement of heating and cooling system, roof, parking, windows, landscaping, etc.

Staffing:  To provide funds for staff enhancement, including salaries, training, recruiting, staff resources, and programs.

Missions:  To provide funds for local, national and global missions programs/projects, including but not limited to feeding the hungry, providing housing for the poor and homeless, promoting peace in the world and other beneficent causes.

Unrestricted:  The fund holds all undesignated or unrestricted gifts.

Ways to Give

There are many ways which cash and planned gifts can be given to support the ministries of Massanutten Church. Below are some of the some of the more popular ways people give. We recommend that you talk to a representative of the Presbyterian Foundation and your financial advisor.

Wills and Bequests A bequest is a major way to support Massanutten Church. Using your will as the tool , you retain full use of your assets during your life. At the time of your death, a portion of your estate, as noted in your will can be left to Massanutten Church. Please remember Massanutten in your estate planning.

Real Estate A gfit of real estate is a great way to support Massanutten Church and could result in tax advantages for your estate. Real estate such as land, rental property, or residence that is no longer used can be given to Massanutten or left in your will.

Stocks and Appreciated Securities Gifts of stocks and securities can offer a reduction of tax liability while supporting Massanutten Church.

Life Insurance Giving life insurance or naming Massanutten Church as a beneficiary can be a way to remember the church when other options are not available.

Retirement Plans A designation of Massanutten Church as the beneficiary of a retirement plan such as 401(k), 403(b), IRA, etc. This is one of the one of the most efficient ways of giving due the tax treatment of the income at death when there is no surviving spouse.
